Why didn't my email go out?

Last updated 2026-07-09

If you hit Send (or a scheduled time passed) and a campaign didn't land, one of four things is usually going on. Work through them in order — the first one that matches is almost always the cause.

1. Check your membership

Live email sending is included with SAGE Membership. If your trial ended or you canceled, your Free Workspace still includes five confirmed SAGE actions each week, plus your full Today’s list, drafts, connections, storefront, and saved work. Campaign drafts remain free to review and edit; the campaign modal shows Explore SAGE Membership when sending is unavailable.

What to do: choose Explore SAGE Membership from the campaign or your profile menu. Your draft stays put while you decide.

2. Scheduled vs. actually sent

If you used Schedule send, the campaign sits in the Scheduled tab until its moment arrives. Open that tab and confirm the date and time you picked — it's easy to schedule something for "next Tuesday" and check the Sent tab that same afternoon.

What to do: if the time is in the future, wait. If the time has passed and the campaign is still in Scheduled, click Send now on the row to fire it manually, then email us so we can investigate.

3. Bounces and unsubscribes trimmed the audience

SAGE automatically removes addresses that previously hard-bounced or unsubscribed from future sends, even if they're still in your customer list. If you targeted a small segment and most of that segment had already unsubscribed, the effective recipient count can end up very low — sometimes zero.

What to do: open the send record. SAGE shows the original audience count, the trimmed count after bounce/unsubscribe filtering, and the delivered count. If the trimmed count was zero, that's why.

4. The review confirmation on your first few campaigns

You do not need to send yourself a test before emailing customers. For early campaigns, pressing Send now or Schedule send confirms that you reviewed the final copy and recipient count.

What to do: reopen the campaign draft, review the subject/body/audience, then send or schedule again. Use Send test to me only if you want to preview it in your own inbox first.

Still unclear?

Email hello@indieco.shop with the campaign name and roughly when you expected it to go out. We can pull the send log and tell you exactly what happened.
